Keep MOVING!
As I am about to leave Bangkok for my flight back home, I can't help thinking about my next adventure...my next MOVE!
When the famous watch company Rolex introduced the world first self-winding movement back in 1933, it revolutionized the horological industry. Rolex named that watch movement...The PERPETUAL, in reference to its continuous winding mechanism (as long as you keep wearing it on your wrist). The famous Rolex Oyster Perpetual was born and it was soon adopted by the world leaders, explorers, travelers, sport legends of our time for its ruggedness, water resistant/ anti-magnetic case....but mostly for it self-winding movement.
I believe that anything that allows us to be more active, to move is a good thing. The lack of movement is the cause of many physical, physiological and mental diseases. We can all witness how inactivity is the roots to many problems (obesity, heart failure...etc) in our modern societies. Thus traveling is good, because it encourages us to be in a perpetual movement, which will improve our physical and mental well-being.
Moving in a minimalist way
When it comes to travel equipment, we should subtract anything which weighs us down. For example carry the lightest backpack, with the lightest equipment. Subtract the superfluous that slow you down.To be a nomad, you must aim to become ultra lightweight.
You don’t have to choose the “ultimate best” equipment or the most "trendy", you rather need to focus on choosing the lightest, smallest, and most compact thing possible! Buy the lightest clothes, lightest jackets, lightest carry on / backpacks, and lightest tech equipment ( I travel with an iPhone 7, an iPad Pro 9"7 and a Apple Macbook Air 11"). This will allow you to be more efficient, to move more easily, to walk further distances, and visit more places.
Life should be like a fun experiment
As a nomad, I have a lot of freedom. I'm free to travel wherever I want, to explore new territories, to visit new places, to eat new local foods. I feel blessed to be able to pursue new creative projects, and I have fun sharing my photos and my writings through this blog.
I will no longer voluntarily suffer and stress for unnecessary reasons . From now on I will always try to find the positive in every negative situations, to always find new opportunities, to always find joy in the simple things, to always affirm my beliefs and to always find ways to fulfill my personal curiosities.
I believe true joy is to see more possibilities and opportunities in everything we do and to seek for more adventures, not to be limited by physical and psychological boundaries and restrictions.
It is worth putting time for yourself, to learn via first-handed experience, and to explore on your own. We have to be more playful, upbeat, and optimistic, the world is already full of pain and suffering. We must continue to discover new truths and knowledge in life.
Make your life worth living, explore and experiment!
KEEP MOVING!
