Staying TRUE

In a world ruled by social media, it has become trendy for people to wear different hats to portray whom they want the world to see. We like to post pictures of us eating at a fancy Manhattan restaurant, diving in an infinity pool in Bali, doing yoga on sandy beach in the Maldives, or driving a brand new exotic car. We are, after all, exhibitionists and voyeurs.

Satisfying that need to look good or impress other people can fill us with a definite high, but it is just temporary.

I believe in living an authentic life. Staying true to my own identity, to my enduring beliefs, attitudes and behaviors.

Staying true to yourself doesn’t always mean you will choose the most popular path, but it does mean that you will follow your instincts and will let your personal values guide your choices in life.

Maintaining respect to your roots is an essential part of understanding who you are and where your values were born. Be grateful to your parents who taught you the real meaning of love, compassion, honesty, humility and hard work. Don't forget the sacrifices they made raising you, remember and keep them close to your heart.

Remember that you are your strongest asset. Stay true to your core values in good time and bad time. As you grow up, many opportunities will arise and many obstacles will slow you down, sometimes you may feel pressure to make decisions that go against your values, but remember to stand by your decisions and do what you feel is right. The road to success is never behind you. When you face failures and setbacks, you have to keep your vision alive and keep moving forward. Obstacles are part of the journey. Without struggle, there would be no triumph.

Lasting happiness occurs when you stay true to your values. Whatever path you are on, staying true to yourself, true to your dreams and always show your authentic self to the rest of world, only then will you truly find happiness.
