Why TRAVEL is good for the SOUL
I realized a long time ago that traveling is essential for my thriving in life. I don’t treat travel as a superfluous luxury. Travel is good for my soul, my mind and my health!
It isn’t about doing tourism, it is about living a better life. And for me, travel is a way to find more joy in your everyday life. Travel encourages me to live more adventurously, to live a more fulfilling life. Travel to me is a good way to see the world from a closer distance. Travel encourages me to take unknown paths, it encourages me to embrace the randomness, chance, and chaos in everyday life.
When I'm feeling stressed, I just go for a walk. Traveling doesn't always imply that I have to take the plane or my car to go for a far away place, taking a walk is also very beneficial to escape my daily routine, to have a moment of freedom and to reboot. I just go for a walk, switching my smartphone to airplane mode, so I can keep using my iPhone to snap pictures, and practice the art of Mindful Photography. When practicing mindful photography, I find beauty and joy in light, shapes, colors, forms, lines, and ordinary fleeting moments.
I think the biggest benefit of travel is that it is good for my mental health. I find travel very therapeutic, because it is the best way for me to find more joy and beauty in everyday life. Travel release my stress, it helps me find inner peace. When I travel to new places (it could well be an alley or some small streets in my hometown, not always a new country). I like to wander around and I find beauty in the ordinary and mundane. For me, travel is about engaging more with the real world, spending less time inside the house and watching TV, and to live life more fully.
We must appreciate what we have in life, and what we achieve in life in order to feel “happy”. Travel allows me to take action in life. Life is a combination of action, appreciation and achievement.
