Knowledge vs Action
My inner self often ask me this question..."Hey VTL! what do you do of all the things you've learned? Is it beneficial to learn something and not applying it? Stop procrastinate and start moving!"
It's been often said that knowledge is power. Although that's true to a certain extent, it isn't the whole truth. Knowledge without action is almost useless. It doesn't help to be a genius if you never do anything with the knowledge you acquired. I tend to see knowledge as the food that feeds the mind and action is the energy to realize what your will dictates you to do. Action without knowledge is useless but knowledge without action is futile.
When we practice something, we are taking an action that involved in the "deliberate repetition" of a process with the firm intention of reaching a specific goal. That repetitive action define the difference between actively practicing something and passively knowing something.
Sadly, knowledge serves sometime as an excuse to avoid taking action. For example, let’s say you want to learn how to trade by reading some books . Reading books on how to be a "winning trader" quickly allows you to feel like you are making progress . But you're not actually practicing that skill by taking real trades, therefore you are luring yourself in thinking you achieved greatness and on your way to become a professional trader. Do you really think Paul Tudor Jones, Ray Dalio, Warren Buffet are who they are only by reading a few books? They master the art of trading and investment by consistently working on refining their skills through repetitive action.
Knowledge is unproductive unless you actually take action on doing what you've learned. Active practice is one of the greatest forms of learning because the mistakes you make reveal important insights. Progress is a natural result of staying focused on the process of doing anything. Our experience comes from blending knowledge with facts, events, and actions.
“Knowledge will enrich you, but only Action will turn your dreams into reality”
By acting and moving forward step by step, not only do I listen to my inner voice, but I also take control of my life and leading it in the direction I want it to go.
On this Christmas Eve, I wish you all to be happy, healthy and wealthy of knowledge :)
