Don't just dream....DO!
Sipping on a cappuccino, at Rain Hills coffee shop on busy Sukhumvit Road , I have time to think about the dream I had as a child...
"The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step." Lao Tzu
Dreaming about success is important if you want to reach that goal, but the challenge lies in having to work for that success. For all those people who take up this challenge head-on are the ones who are able to succeed! Think about Steve Jobs, Richard Branson or Elon Musk, they were all able to reach their ultimate goal in life not only because they dreamed for success, but they worked hard to make their dreams and visions come true.
Success eludes those who are not willing to come out of their comfort zone, those who are afraid to fail, those who prefer to stand still rather than moving forward. Somehow, we all think of success. We all dream of success. We all want to have a successful life. But, not all work hard for it. Not all are willing to sacrifice for it. Because success never come easy. It takes hard work, determination and will. That’s why our dream of success, continues to be just a dream.
"There are many ways of going forward, but only one way of standing still." Franklin D. Roosevelt
The sad fact is as we get older our ambitions seem to fade away. What did you dream about when you were a kid? To be an explorer, a world traveler, an award-winning fashion photographer? Today as you sit in the car, stuck in traffic, on your way to work or under the shower after a long day, what sort of fantasy future are you indulging in? Is it financial freedom, be your own boss, having your own clothing brand? For many of us our dreams disappear as we come under pressure to be "realistic". It's not easy to dream when you have big mortgage, major debts, divorce and other personal issues. But every problem has a solution and we should never stop pursuing our ultimate goal.
Success is an outcome of a lifetime of hard work and perseverance. It comes from pursuing opportunities, being disciplined, and focusing on what matters. And for that you need to stop dreaming and start doing!
On the last sip of my cappuccino, I feel the warm and comforting sensation that I am on the right path and nothing should stop me from making my dream into a reality.
