Unstoppable Bangkok
Above the dark clouds on a rainy night, as the Commander signaled on the speakers that our plane is descending to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport...my heart beats faster. In a few minutes I will be on the ground, my head instantly filled up with sweet memories...the Buddhas and the temples, the tuk-tuks, the big roads, the pink taxis, the night markets, the street vendors, the smell of durian and mango/sticky rice, the massage parlors, the hot and sweaty nights....
As our female flight attendant gave me a sweet smile and offered passengers with orchid flowers (symbol of Thailand) ...I can't help but thinking about my mom, my family and friends back home in freezing cold Canada. I left home twenty hours ago under slippery roads, only to be welcomed with the most charming greeting "Sawadee , welcome to Bangkok, Thailand"....it was well worth the sleepless night on board of ANA flight from Tokyo, Japan after a long and exhausting connecting flight from Montreal, Canada to Newark, USA.
Bangkok here I AM!
